Self-Archiving Policy

The Northern Journal of Medical Sciences, an open access medical journal, operates under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs CC BY-ND license. This license permits redistribution, both commercial and non-commercial, of all published content, as long as the original work is not modified and the journal is appropriately credited. This article elucidates the liberal “self-archiving policy” of the Northern Journal of Medical Sciences.

A: PRE-PRINT FILES

A pre-print is the author’s version of a manuscript before it undergoes peer review. Authors are permitted to upload a pre-print of their research manuscript on their personal website or a pre-print service such as bioRxiv or arXiv. Following the publication of the paper in the journal, authors are expected to acknowledge the publication and provide a link to the final, reviewed version of the article on the Northern Journal of Medical Sciences website.

B: AUTHOR’S ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPT

The author’s accepted manuscript is the final version of a research paper that has been accepted for publication following peer review but has not undergone typesetting or copyediting. As per our “self-archiving policy”, authors can make their accepted manuscript immediately available on their personal websites, their employer’s internal website, or the repositories provided by their funders or institution. After publication, authors are expected to acknowledge the publication and provide a link to the final, reviewed version of the article on the Northern Journal of Medical Sciences website.

C: PUBLISHED ARTICLE

The published article is the final version of the article that is published after the completion of the editorial workflow. Our “self-archiving policy” allows authors to share the published article with anyone via any means after publication, as long as the journal is credited.
